Lookup
Location information is approximate and may identify an ISP's network location rather than the user's physical location.
Lookups are sent to a third-party service, ipwho.is, which receives the address you query. "My IP" asks that service to detect your public IP (not your private local IP).
Approximate Location
IP geolocation is approximate. VPNs, proxies, mobile networks, corporate networks, and ISP routing can affect location accuracy.
Network Information
Organization names describe a network operator, not an individual. Reverse DNS hostname and network range (CIDR) are not provided by this lookup provider.
Technical Details
Privacy and Accuracy Notice
This tool runs in your browser and does not store the addresses you enter. To answer a lookup, the address is sent to ipwho.is; when a map is shown, your browser also loads it from openstreetmap.org. It does not scan ports, probe the target, or request your device's precise location. It cannot identify a person or an exact home address.

FAQ
How accurate is IP geolocation?
Usually reliable at country level, less so for region and city. Results often point to an ISP's hub or data center instead of the user's actual location.
Why does the location look wrong?
VPNs, proxies, mobile carriers, corporate networks, and outdated database records can all place an IP address in a different city or country.
Can this find someone's home address?
No. IP lookup shows public network registration and approximate location data only. It cannot identify an individual or an exact address.
Why can't I look up 192.168.x.x or 127.0.0.1?
Private, loopback, link-local, and other special-purpose addresses are not publicly routable, so public geolocation databases have no meaningful data for them.
Is my lookup private?
The queried address is sent to the lookup provider (ipwho.is), so it is not fully private. This page does not save addresses in your browser.
